Education is so important, especially when it comes to educating others about animal care! We’ve spent lots of time visiting learning environments with our critters over the years, and never get tired of sharing what we know with young animal enthusiasts. Plus, we all know that Oreo considers himself the smartest of all animals, and loves to impart his ‘great depths of knowledge’ on everyone he meets!
Perhaps you work at a school, and are looking for an enriching, enlightening and enjoyable experience for your pupils? Our animals are more than used to school environments by now, and have adapted to a variety of different educational encounters. Many schools simply invite us to do a hands on ‘assembly’ on our animals and animal care in general, which always prove popular! However, if you’d prefer that we focus on a more specific part of a particular key stage, we can do that too. If your pupils are studying a topic such as nocturnal animals, or rainforest creatures, for instance, we can bring a more specific selection of animals to reflect this. We can customise our encounters to cater to children from reception age all the way up to A-level students, so feel free to get in touch and ask about what we might be able to do for you.
Of course, we’re more than happy to help out more mature students, too! We’ve done plenty of encounters at colleges, and have even done lectures at universities! We love to spend time with fellow animal lovers, especially those that are working towards a career helping animals! Whether you’re a teacher or a student – if you think our company may have something to offer your class or course, we’re more than happy to help. Again, we can even bring specific animals to help with specific subjects, assuming the animals are comfortable doing so.
Let’s not forget those extra-curricular youth groups! Oreo and his friends are still happy to educate outside of school hours, so if you’re involved with a group such as scouts or girl guides, why not consider arranging one of our encounters? We’ve worked with these groups before, and our animals always provide a really fun learning experience.
There’s so much fascinating knowledge we could share about every one of our animals. However, it’s important to bear in mind that not all of our animals are suitable for every encounter environment. For example, some of our animals are unsuitable for young children, while some are uncomfortable when surrounded by large crowds or excessive noise. We will always do our best to meet your preferred requirements, but our animals are our priority! We’re sure you understand if we decide that it might be best for certain animals to remain at Oreo and Friends HQ under certain circumstances.
Our educational encounters are a really great way of providing a unique, hands on learning experience for anyone passionate about animals! If you think there’s some way that we might be able to help you out, feel free to head over to our contact page and get in touch!
